There are approximately 5,000 Pre-K through 12th grade students in USD 480. There is one High School, two Middle Schools, five elementary schools, one pre-school and one Newcomer's Center. Central Office is located at 7 Parkway Blvd.
College and Technical Education- Seward County Community College is a two year community college offering many different pathways to a degree. SCCC serves more than 2,000 students annually.

Seward County Coronado Museum
Coronado and his band of 36 Spanish soldiers were the first Europeans to visit what is now Southwest Kansas. They traveled through in 1541, looking for the fabled Seven Cities of Gold, leaving behind them a few small items and a legend which are on display at this local museum. The museum also houses and displays many of the heirlooms, antiques and pictures of early day Seward County. There is also an exhibit that pays tribute to the culture of the Native American Indians who inhabited the land before any settlers set foot on the nearby prairie. Located at Yellow Brick Road at Cedar in Liberal.
Arkalon Park is the area's premier wildlife destination. Enjoy the beauty of Arkalon Park while fishing, camping, hiking. or a picnic with family and friends. The Park is located 10 miles northeast of Liberal off US Highway 54.
Play Ball - Liberal Bee Jays
Each summer come out and watch Liberal's very own collegiate summer baseball team. They are a member of the Kansas Collegiate League Baseball, playing in the National Baseball Congress and sanctioned by NCAA. They have won 15 Jayhawk League championships and five National Baseball World championships. They play at Brent Gould Field at Seward County Community College and travels to other Kansas cities.
